Battery vehicles
With the increase in oil prices, a lot of companies have started evaluating the feasibility of using battery operated vehicles. Most trains run on electricity, but the number of vehicles powered by electricity has been limited due to battery constraints.
Though a few models of vehicles designed to operate exclusively on electricity have been designed in the past few years, most electric vehicles on the road have been converted from petrol/ diesel powered vehicles. For these conversions, practical experience is more useful compared to theoretical books.
Bicycles which are powered by solar cells and electric power are also becoming popular.
